How to install intake elbow?

Trying to replace my old oil soaked and leaking intake elbow. The new one is very stiff and after an hour of struggling I still can't get it on. Is there a trick to this (engine in)?

Was confused for a minute- Speedy has it on "d-" terminal while Pat seems to have it on the housing itself. Put the multimeter between the two sites and voila!. There are the same.

Pulled the engine again and retried the fork/bearing connection. Tan out of time to hook up clutch springs etc. will report when I get back to it maybe sat or Sunday
