piston ring replacement...

... i have original mahle nikasil plated cylinders, when replacing piston rings do i need to do anything to the cylinders, i know i cannot 'hone' nikasil cylinders so do i just 'plug and play'.

Gland nut and heads...

.....after removal of my flywheel i noticed the gland nut had no thread bearings on the inside, they had all worn off (some were still lying around inside the nut!) what reason could there be for...

.... i have a '67 912 which seems to be lacking a bit of power on acceleration, once it reaches around 3000 revs it's fine but it takes time getting there even when warm, is this normal for this car?...
