Mine did the same thing. I removed the starter and the gear wasnt popping out correctly because of dirt and corrosion. I used some penetrating fluid and cleaned it out nicely. Do not grease it up...

The way the 944 is wired one channel runs 4 speakers so he will add 2 more speakers and have 6. I already have a 12 inch sub in my car and no Its not rattling my car as I have my amp turned down low...
