Well....I bet it does go down, but in reality you're still "making" power, not as much, but still positive, so you're still accelerating, but not a quite the same rate, I don't think at that point...

I don't think it's a matter of if the engine is "making power", but more that it's not making PEAK power. From what I've seen the hp curve peaks somewhere around 5500-6000, then tapers off. ...

Welding and regrindig won't work, the surface of the cam is hardened and once you wear through the hardened part, you're done. Only way I know of to fix that is to replace it......Even the mfg's...
