So my car started to overheat in traffic the other day and before I could pull over it popped and steam started spewing out of the engine bay. Found the culprit but I'm not sure what to call it and...

I'm a total electronics noob. I can't tell if this solder joint is bad or if that stuff is something that's supposed to be on there. There are about 5 locations on the board that look similar.

Ive never had an o2 sensor. Theres a homemade test pipe where the cat was, and the PO said he likes it running a little rich and the performance was better w/o the o2 sensor.

Also I put in the Steve Wong chip a week and a half before this issue started coming up and set the idle to 880 with the jumper in. Don't know if that could have anything to do with it.

Problem resolved. Cylinder head temperature...

Problem resolved. Cylinder head temperature sensor connector was not fully connected. Runs like a dream. Thanks to all who helped me.

Lowered the engine again and replaced the crank...

Lowered the engine again and replaced the crank pulley seal properly and after putting it all back together (minus the exhaust and bumper) it won't start again. Going to troubleshoot tomorrow.
