I had the same issue with mine. The 993 has an immobiliser circuit built into the ECU which defaults to immobilised, and needs a positive signal from the 993 immobiliser to unblock it - and of course...

Ok, thanks. Those seem to come up regularly, so I'll keep the search up for the Carrera cooler in the meantime, and have that as a plan B.

Thanks, Craig - though now I know what the temps are on the different markings, I think the standard gauge will be fine - and as easy to remember as trying to convert US temps!

So it sounds like adding a Carrera cooler to the other wing (leaving the existing SC one in place), plus airflow, fan and insulation should do the job.

I've set up ebay searches for 'Carrera oil...

Jon, my mechanic, has confirmed that the car just has the standard SC wing-mounted cooler. One observation he did make is that you guys are used to much hotter air temps than us - the kind of weather...
