I have a flipped 5th gear as 3rd in my 901 gearbox, which has started whining ( only in third) recently and is getting worse. Is this because I have flipped a used gear or could it be another issue?...

2.0 S MFI on 2.7

Will a 1969 2.0S MFI pump work on a 2.7 with S cams and 9.8:1 C.R without having to modify the space cam or the MFI pump itself? Heads would be 2.4 MFI heads with 36mm intake ports.
