End of Clutch slave cylinder line

This is the end that goes into the Clutch Slave Cylinder.
When i removed the line the end got damaged and it would not stay in the cylinder.

I have just replaced my engine with a 2001 and have the same issue, i am trying to figure out how you attached the fuel line to the existing rails?

i do see a connection on the passenger side rail...
