73 S starting

I've got a 73 S that runs very well but if it doesn't start the first time, the plugs foul up. MFI pump is rebuilt and it's got Bosch platinum W3DPO plugs. Should I try other plugs?

I've had your problem and bought a can of electrical contact fluid. I removed all bulbs and fuses and sprayed the fluid at all the contact points. Everything works fine now.

Alt Light

I had the same problem with a 73 911 shortly after purchased. I found that the voltage regulator was wired wrong. The ground should be the brown wire not the black one. Hope your problem is that easy...

Dyno Results

As a point for comparison, I just had my 73 911S dynoed at an Alfa Club event. It is stock but was bumped up to 2.7 when it was rebuilt 30,000 miles ago.

The Alfa Romeo Owners are having a time trial / race at the Las Vagas road course on Sept4 and 5. Any make of car can enter the event for intro, novice, time trial, or race (depending on experience)....
