I had a similar problem a few months back. Crank position sensor was faulty I believe. Ended up doing speed sensors and DME at the same time.

Thanks for the help everyone. It was the timing belt -- my guess is that a roller failed.

Thanks guys. Got the problem fixed a few months back. You're both correct, I replaced the DME and crank position sensors and haven't had a no-start problem since.
