Yes the insulation on the last 1/8th of an inch of the wire did look like it got a little hot. I imagine form the overheating of the wire when only a strand or two was carrying the load before it...

Where are these parts Available? I could not find them with the host. Although I was able to reuse my contact that the wire broke off of, new parts would be best.
