It'd be hard to get a non-limited slip trans for 600$, for one with it a more realistic price is 1200-1800, I don't think I've seen a limited slip trans for less than a grand.

Try replacing all the bulbs first, my guages were really dim, but upon replacing all the bulbs for a few dollars, they are just fine, I have no problems seeing at night and they light up great.

I'd guess that not all of the rollers were replaced and one seized, or one of them was defective, that or your waterpump went but then you'd be running hot.
