Resurrecting this thread. Did anyone do this install and have inatructions on which wires they spliced or cut? My tach on my 81 SC died yesterday and this Speedhut seems like a nice alternative.

Thanks I'll buy a 12in adjustable wrench and give that a shot. Didn't realize it could work since there's not much room by the thermostat and the oil cross over line

I did the same thing as you with PB Blaster hoping that would help with the rust. In the end I just cut out the whole thing since I did not plan on selling it anyway. It definely sped up the install...
