924S front end too light at speed

I always liked the clean bodywork of the 924S which is why I have one instead of a 944.

But over, say, 60 mph, the (power) steering feels very light and jittery. I have followed the instructions...

My "new" car, which only has <60K miles, had the steering lock while making a sharp right turn, as if the key was out/off, but only in the unwinding direction; turning it a little more the other way...
