How do I disconnect the gas pedal on my 951? I need to install new carpet. I know this is probably really easy but I really dont want to damage anyhting. Wish I knew more about these cars its costing...

Is the power sterring pump supposed to spin freely or should it make a thumping sound as it spins? I have a used pump and its not installed on the car but the wheel spins with no nooise or anything...
