If it's an early 96, then it *might* be needing a new wiring harness. (some of the 95/96 models have wiring that "falls apart").

possibly check with Porsche that it's not on the recall list...???...

To remove the Tiptronic knob, the button unscrews and then the knob pulls off (usually a lot of effort to remove). Watch out as it flies up into your face!

Offsets the LCD viewing angle IIRC.

There's a couple on Ebay right now... going for about $80 IIRC.
