I can verify the that the inlet sizes on the GT3 muffler are 2" upper (quiet) & 2.5" lower (not-so-quiet). And they do protrude into the muffler a bit...the gaskets design requires this.

around here, it's probably best to work with a local hot rod-type shop to get things chrome plated. Where I live, I'd use Carolina Rod Shop in Piedmont, SC.
Of course, they just box-up your parts...

I used the "universal dolly" method for transporting mine to bodywork and paint shop, strapped to flat bed.......it worked great....
