Tie rod replacement is about a 20 minute job and can be easily done with a 13mm(i think) wrench, and adjustable wrench and a gear puller. if the rack is already off the car then it should be a snap....

There is no way I'm going to replace the whole unit. I'm not even planning on replacing the switch. the switch works fine. Its just missing the cover. Which is a little ugly but not worth replacing...
