For yucks and giggles, I called my local P dealer...

For yucks and giggles, I called my local P dealer to get a quote for a plug/wire and cap change.

5 hours @ $225ea to change the plugs
8 hours to changes the wires
$27 x 12 for the plugs

I found the electrical diagram in the service manual and it seems the exciter wire gets its voltage off the positive terminal on the starter. The starter works, so it is not a fuse issue. I'll tear...

993 Alternator issue

I just replaced my fan/bearing and while it was out, had the alternator rebuilt. The car has 110k miles so I thought it prudent. It was working fine before the job.

I got it all back together...

It's remarkable how clean the rest of the engine bay is. It seems it's only the fan that degraded..odd.

Fan hub bearing is shot. Just ordered one as well as a set of Koni Special Active Struts and Eibach springs. Tirerack has the Konis on special.

Since nobody jumped up to talk me out of this thing, I picked it up today.

Front struts are gone.
Fan making some contact to shroud. Needs adjustment.
Brakes good
Interior excellent....
