There are a ton of old posts about their rebuilds but I don't see anything recent. At $3800 I'm questioning the thoroughness of the rebuild. Anyone running one of them for a decent number of miles?

I think he means you can add it to your oil as well as pull it in via the vacuum lines. But you need to change the oil shortly after.

Yes, the airbox part numbers are pretty chaotic. The key is that it is for the SC and is 38 mm O.D. Here is a screencap for some of the other part numbers for the 38mm airbox from the Porsche parts...
