Okay I checked the fuel pressures and cold was lean (20 psi) and warm pressure was 50.5 which is barely within spec according to the Bentley I have.

The sound definitely was louder underneath...

I haven't gotten to check my car yet but I can say regarding the idle surging that happens when it's cold and then once it's warm it idles smoothly.
