The airflow meter uses a "barn door" stlye air flow meter. The enertia of the mass of the door requires a fair amount of "slop" in the programming in the DME to account for the movement of the flap....

I have had an Autothority MAF in my 93 C2 for the last 4 years. I took 12v from the Idle Stabilizer harness (about 3 inches of wire total). It's switched power and really close.
