yea, this seems like the most fool proof method. That way, if you hit smthing with the hose , at least it'll sprout some fire works for you to enjoy!

Teh technique you refer to is the one outlined in the Pelican artical. I think I'll follow thier instructions. I jsut need to know how high the car must be raised. Anybody know?

Thats the spirite! Jump in and do it! But you should probably at least read the artical on how to BEST perform an engine drop. I've never done a 914 but I've done it in my VW bus a couple of times...

Alot can change in an hour....

Well, I figured I'd clean up the engine (1975 1.8 L-jet) a little this afternoon because there were a lot of leaves and gunk caked all over the place...

An hour later.... it wouldn't start....
