Yep, I've always done it as hot as posible so the stats fully open.
Thats what I think they did wrong, so it air locked?

The stat on these cars has no bleed through it, it seals completely.

Well I've now got the car back with a new spring clutch, a new water pump. all new belts and adjusters, and idlers.

As some Brits use this site (cos its the best one!) I'm happy with what I got...

If you did it when its hot, it will get tighter when cold and more likely to break if been in a freezing garage all...
