If that does not solve it.....

I had a very similar issue on my 1150GS. Finally tracked it down to one of the pushrods.

R1100S Hall sensor

Rewired with Aircraft Teflon High Temperature shielded wire.
Good for the lifetime of your bike.
Rotation tested and switching checked with a scope.
Don't get stranded by your original one....

Another overlooked detail is if the belt shreds sometimes the strands rip out the hall sensors.
Replace as per recommendations.

Poor Man's Transmission drain tool

3/8 coupling nuts are available at any industrial supply or big hardware store.
Cut it in half and it will fit nicely into the transmission drain plug.
Hook to a larger wrench to undo.
A 1/2"...
