Make sure the connection in the engine...
Make sure the connection in the engine compartment on the passenger side right next to the positive jumper line is clean and the connection is good.

You should have used a peace of plastic sheeting to cover the stripper up after you had put the stripper on the hood . It keeps if from drying out and helps it remove the paint so you do not have to...

I would replace the Mains and rod bearings right...
I would replace the Mains and rod bearings right off the coolent will wash out the bearings in no time. Been there done that.
