If it is the whole mirror, including the base, you have to turn the flag part of the mirror forward almost all the way. At the pivot point inside the base is a hex (allen) head bolt that you tighten....

Try grounding out the wire at the sending unit, that would tell you if the gauge is working. That would be a good place to start, if you need another sending unit I think I may have one for cheap.

Unhappy Bolt on the end of the crank

Is the bolt on the front of the crankshaft a normal threaded bolt or is it a reverse thread. I seem to be havig a heck of a time removing it.
