thnx guys - yes i considered dropping it from the engine back but lots of work - i've put penetrating fluid like crazy on it. 1 or 2 nuts seem like they've corroded right into the bolt...so looks...

97 318ti and trying to remove the exhaust for clutch job. find that the flange at the mani/cat is rusted and 'fused'. Any way around this or suggestions so that I don't have to take of the manifold.....

thanks again for the pointers. I haven't had the chatter down on shut off, though the "feeling" of engaging the clutch pedal seems like side heavy causing a wobbling feel like mass has shifted

96-318ti; I changed the rad and thermostat; apparently good flow through the water pump however i get coolant on the ground (cup full) under the car (about where the stick shift is) and overheating...

96-318ti has been idling ok (when dry outside) but when rev past 3k rpm, dies and difficult to restart. Car was fine until i went over a snow drift, however see no damage to the o2 sensor.
