My jack pad tool, along with the tool kit, jack and damn near everything else, was long gone when I got the car. Is there any substitute for the original jack pad tool or bar or whatever you call it?

I am replacing the inner oil flex hose that connects to the oil cooler under the right front fender of my 1977 911. Any hints, tips, re technique or tools would be appreciated by this non-mechanic....

You're right about the alternator. Put the CDI box in and the car fired up but alt. light stayed on. Removed alternator, shook it and three diodes dropped out.

During the summer -- of course -- I noticed a flex hose dragging in front of each rear wheel well. Of course, I did nothing about it. (Insert "idiot" here)

I'd be interested, too. I'm using Castrol GTX 20-50 in mine, with a reasonable amount of leakage/burnage. I've got 130,000 miles on the chassis and about 100,000 on the Sc engine.
