again here is how I checked my vacuum....the "Y" line which runs from the brake booster to the boot which holds the MAF & also connects to the plenum (just in front of the throttle cable...

Can you tell me which vacuum hose to attach the gauge to....would it be one that connects with the boot which holds the MAF???...or one of the small vacuum hoses which connect under the intake....Hey...

I just replaced my old 4 prong platinum plugs with $50 new ones...."could" these plugs cause idle problems??????? the old plugs ran fine........

I checked the vacuum at the intake plenum....the port where the hose runs to the brake booster & down to the maf boot...I got between 18-19hg with idle at app 1000 rpm....I still haven't located...

I considered trying to find a re-seal kit & go...

I considered trying to find a re-seal kit & go that route, but I decided I'd go ahead & replace both the master & slave...I've done it before & KNOW what I'm getting in to....but I'm a llittle leery...

Anyone know of a good site that details any short-cuts, or tricks to removing & replacing the clutch master.....on top of my idle surge problem...today my clutch master bit the dust!!!

On my original post I show ISV as IAV...I was refering to the Idle Stabilizing Valve..
& I will check out the vacuum...what wouold a min. vacuum number be for a 928s4.

I replaced the breather hoses & lge vacuum lines, gaskets on my 87 s4 intake..now the car surges at idle......on a cold start it will rev up to 2200 rpm & stays there until it starts to warm up...it...
