It's snapped in position. The helper spring is almost touching the heat exchanger where the exchanger is ground out. It' just that the stop bolt has to be threaded all the way in to get close enough...

Thanks for the info. Great pictures. Do you know who has the plastic tanks? I'm a little concerned about the fit of the reproductin tanks, although I suppose the plastics could have the same problem.

Oil coming out of all 6 exhaust

I have a 73.5 targa w/2.4 c.i.s. It was running low on power and then it started blowing white smoke and filled the muffler with oil. Compression is around 130 in all 6. Oil tank level is below full.
