Thanks for everyone's help on this. Wound up being a bad tach. Replaced the tach and it's working without the 8920 adaptor.

Yes it's connected to the tach lug on the msd...

Yes it's connected to the tach lug on the msd then to the tach signal wire on the CDI plug. Timmy2 sent you a PM thanks

931 617 101 00 is the number on the unit according to some cross reference...
