The hub is inside the bearing, the axle is inside the hub. So the inner race will stick to the hub when its removed.

I believe sometime during the 2005 model year or maybe starting with 2006, replacement of the imsb requires that the case be split. Possibly you have such an engine as the replacement.

Old thread, but I'm about to replace my rear bearings. My 86 carrera has the self-locking axle nuts. I'm assuming its necessary to replace these with new ones, is that right?

Good idea. I'll get a new end for the originall rod and put that back in. Thanks for the suggestion. This central locking is a hassle. I don't even care about it!
