I have never touched the cylinder heads before so why would it be a stripped head bolt? I am thinking that it could be a burnt value. The noise only comes from the #4 cylinder.

1.8L sounding strange

I have a 1.8L carburated 914 that sounds like a Brigss & Stratton engine from a lawn mower. I removed the spark wire from cylinder #4 to see where the sound was coming from and that was the cylinder....

How do you remove rusty bolts that hold the rear calipers on? I can't seem to get the things loose. I need them off! I have to replace the rotor and probably the caliper.

I think it is a 5sp. I kinda got it into 5th gear but it won't stay there. It either pops out of you have to hold it in. I didn't know that 914s came with a 4sp. I thought they were all 5 speeds.
