I took 1/2 inch out..

We cut .5" out and placed a stainless insert rod inside of about 4"and tig welded it back together. It is perfect for the lowered bike.
I am happy with the result.. getting the bike on the center...

I bet it was put away wet.

Most likely ice... a quick method is deicer.. then some graphite lock lube.. I would not put any wd40 or any other stuff that can get sticky or pick up grit.

Put a warm hand on the lock or heat...
