I bought mine last week with no evidence of TB changes. So it's going in for a PPI on Wednesday, and a full TB and water pump job - that's if the PPI tells me that the car is in decent enough shape...

Firstly, I'm wondering if they are really necessary. If they are, can anyone tell me which ones my 89 with 4 piston calipers needs?

Hi,

I just bought an 89 S4 with 130K miles. In nice shape except for some sun damage to the headliner and back seats. Everything seems to work, even heat and A/C. The timing belt was last changed...
