Shaun have you tried soaking your rusty parts in vinegar for a couple of days prior to tumbling? Tried this trick on some old very rusty BBQ parts recently and they cleaned up nicely.

I swapped out the original short shift about 2...

I swapped out the original short shift about 2 weeks after I got the car, I find it very good for my application (track days), don't think I've ever missed a gear. Would be a pain to drive every day...

Thanks for the assistance guys, first I will see what the rake is then take it from there. Will also see about swapping the helper springs to the bottom.

A couple of observations on the Hargett Shifter (although mine is installed in a club racer) difficult to make it look anywhere near "stock", I'm 6ft and the mounting position using the existing bolt...

Thanks for the kind words, the old girl does get driven on the street, usually to and from the track or occasionally to scare the tourists that frequent my local back roads (104 dB without mufflers)....

Be prepared for some nasty freight charges, the front and rear bars I purchased from suppliers in the US (not TRE) cost be more in freight than the cost of bars!
