hey everyone, just wanted to circle back and let you know the culprit, was indeed, the DME relay. He plugged in a new one and the engine fired right up!

nixter, i had the exact same symptoms. You may have a blown CIS air box - in which case you have a vacuum leak. Despite having a pop-off valve - the seam along the air box can separate over time.

$450 for a new air box. Then new gaskets and boots and pop-off valve., plus other misc items. About $600 labor. Its a DIY job if you have a garage.

MAS, when you remove the SC emblem - you're going to find that it has metal pegs which stick into the deck lid holes. These holes may show when you affix the correct Carrera emblem.
