OK - went on a cleanup/hunt under the seats and console. Removed the papers and junk under the seats (recently got this car and finding the PO must have been part pack-rat) - and found over $3.00...

That explains it... in the past 5 years of this rebuild, we used a "smoke wrench" to remove the Targa bar and removed the rear glass (with defrost) and all other evidence of a top.

Just checked the wires (as you requested, John)

One is RED with a WHITE thin stripe running along the length of the wire.
The other is RED, with a BLACK mark about once per inch on the wire.
