It quit while running

1986 928 was running and just quit, Plenty of gas in tank but no gas squirting from fuel rail when trying to start. I have checked the fuse and replaced the fuel pump relay. Anybody got any ideas...

Rings stuck - Soak it?

I have removed the pistons from an engine that has been sitting up for several years - with water in the cylinder. Is there anything that works to soak the pistons in that will release the rings...

86 928 not getting fuel

Help please, friends 928 was very hard to start. Now it won't even hit. I removed the cap on the fuel rail and no fuel. I swapped the fuel pump relay with another one, but still no fuel.

Oil Pan Gasket change?

To change the oil pan gasket, can I drop it down a few inches without taking off the cross member, and install another gasket? Has anyone tried ? Thanks, 1986 na

Oil Pan gasket is leaking - I think

As long as the engine is running - there are no oil leaks. But when I kill the engine and a few hours later - there is a plate size puddle of oil. Anybody got any ideas ? Thanks

Is it sliding out just so far and stopping, or is it like stuck? I tried to get shaft out of 924s 1987 with automatic. It will go about 1/2 inch and stop. Later discovered that there was a 'Keeper'...

I hear it for the split second before the engine starts up. I also have an 83 model and the relay as you know is under the dash and I can also here it click before the engine starts.

I disconnected the fan, replaced the fuse, fuse...

I disconnected the fan, replaced the fuse, fuse did not blow, but when I jumped the plug that connects into the rad. coolant sensor -fan turned about 1/3 of a turn and blew the fuse.

I have the cam sprocket and flywheel lined up by the marks. But what tells no. 1 plug to fire? How does it know not to fire on the exhaust stroke? 1986 944n/a

Head bolt torque

What's it mean when the torque is like 15 lbs, then 90 degrees. Like in Clarks-Garage for 1987S head bolt.

Piston rings for 924S

Pelican does not list piston rings for a 1987 924S. Would the 944 rings be the same? Gaskets, rod bearing etc are listed.

Cleaning intake & head

Now that I have the intake and head removed from my 944, What is a good method to make them look like new? I have scrubbed with a brass type brush but still lots of corrosion. Thanks
