That is the first time I heard that. So the 1.7 - 1.8 early exhaust has smaller pipes that the 2.0? You can easily see the differences in the late vs. early exhaust and even the shape of the pipes...

I am in the process of dismantling my 75 1.8 engine. I noticed that there was ALOT of old oil on the engine in the area of the oil breather box. The PO had used a cork gasket along with black RTV...
