I had the same problem with my 88. There was a factory harness in the upper right-hand corner which prevented a perfect fit. I just enlarged to bottom center mounting hole and that did the trick....

I retained the accordions but modified the bumper for a completely smooth look and added a LED license plate frame. I believe a gt3 type exhaust will fit. At least that is the plan for the future....
