997 sluggish startup

Hey, so I recently got a new 997 (2006) shipped enclosed from Miami and when we started it up the engine was pretty sluggish and didn’t sound right. We checked the buttery and it says 12.5 volts, what is the correct battery charge for that car?

Batteries don't last long here in Fl. Alternator puts out around 14v running.
Mine was sluggish , running on the battery 12v alt. output , replaced the alt.
starts right up, also check the battery to alternator cable heard it causes issues.
