Brake light failure

My '99 Carrera has right side taillight non operable while left side works. Checked connections and left side has two hot center posts while right side only one post hot. Any ideas where to check next? Bulbs are new, seems power loss from fuse to rear terminal junction.

Firstly , you should removing the stop lamp and check if you can see any oxydation , check the wire itself if not damaged somewhere , change the fuse.

Thank you. the socket is clean and dry. the harness in the lens portion appears fine as all other lights are working. not sure how to proceed upstream toward fuse box as it appears hidden in the chassis. i"ll check fuses to see if there is a separate one for the right side. assumed one fuse would do both left and right side.

After further research it says in this model only the drivers side is hot and it serves as a rear fog lamp. No power was ever designed for the passenger side.
