Are 90% of 996s Silver?
I've been looking for a Manny tranny 996 or 997 for about a week now. I think 997s look so much better, not only because of the headlights but also the rear fenders (are all 997s widebody or widebodyish?). However, I think a 996 can hold a candle to a 997 in appearance if it is a coupe and has a few of the following: side skirts, aftermarket wheels, big tires in the rear, and is red, black or dark blue with black interior. But it seems that 90% are silver and 75% are convertibles. Any thoughts?

While I don't know the numbers, Silver and Gray were very popular colors for Porsche as we rolled into the early 2000s. Boxsters and 996 by the dozens came in dull colors. Not sure why folks (or dealers) wanted what seems to be a very "safe" color for such a great car. Then again, they did sell like crazy, so it must not have been a bad color either. Cabs, while a premium back whenn new seem to be available for a discount over coupes. Find one with the factory hardtop and its the best of both worlds.
