Repair 997 dash after airbag deployment.
I was looking at buying a damaged 997. Both airbags deployed. Among the needed repairs would be putting the driver's side dash airbag flap back together. Does anyone know if it would be possible to sew this back together without dash removal? Or with dash removal? I called one upholstery shop yesterday and they said that they could not do it because of liability issues. But the PPI guy (not an expert shop, just a guy that does face time PPI for out of the area buyers) said he thought it was.
Also, what do you think is going on under the footwell? I would assume the subframe cradle was pushed into this area. I'm assuming new subframe and new control arms on the passenger side. Car has a clean title. I suppose carfax will show airbag deployment. ![]() ![]()
