Key sucking Battery down? T or F

I have a 997 and was told today the leaving the key in the car (not in ignition) sucks the battery down bec it continually "talks" to the computers. Any truth to this?

That's because the 986 needs to be in "sleep" mode to minimize battery drain. You can't shut down everything by locking with a key inside.
