lobster claw rims and snow tires

I am looking to get a set of snow tires on separate rims for my '06 997. I have the stock five spoke 18 on there now. I love the lobster claw style and thought I would get those for my snow tires. I noticed they seem to only be in 19". Is that the case and if they were for S models will I have any issues with offset or width.
Does it make the most sense to put summers on the lobster claw and snow on the 18's so they have more sidewall.
Thanks,
Adam

No matter the car it's usually a good idea for your winter wheel/tire set to have a little more sidewall.

I believe even Porsche recommends winter tires to go on the smaller diameter of available factory wheels.

I'm guessing 18 is the smallest factory size?

For the 997, 18" was the smallest size offered by Porsche, 19" being the other offering.

Thanks.
Were there any variations in the width and offset of the Lobsters I should be concerned about putting them on a non-S car?

I have 2002 C4S turbo twist's with 10+year old Blizzak's that have been in cool dark storage except for the 500 miles driven. Tires are in very good shape. I used the wheels year around 2015-2018 with Michelin Pilot's, they are true and straight but cosmetically challenged. I replaced these with OZ wheels and summer Michelin Pilot's and new winter wheels & tires this last fall.
Wheels - Fronts-8x18, 50 offset, rears 11x18, 45 offset
Tires 225/50 & 265/45. The 265's on 11" look weird but perform fine. These sizes are Porsche recommended for 2002-2004 C4S winters.
$800 + shipping

I decided to just get the Tirerack package. They had a nice rim selection that looks stock. I am still interested in knowing if there are Lobster fork rims that fit on a non-s 911. i tend to only see them on S 911's. Would there be an offset or width problem?
Thanks,
Adam

Thumbs up

My 2005 997.1 base Carrera came from the factory with the Carrera S lobster wheels as a $1,550 option #403.
The front wheels are 8" ET 57 with 235/35ZR19 tires and the rear wheels are 11" ET 67 with 305/30ZR19 tires.

I installed the LNE 2 qt. oil sump extension for HPDE days, and will leave the ride height stock for increased sump clearance.
