Brakes won't release

I have a '99 with low miles, 60k, with a brake problem. Yesterday morning on backing out of the drive the brakes stayed engaged and nearly prevented the car from moving. Today I removed the access covers in the frunk to observe the brake action and to check for obstruction but found no clues. I had my wife start the car and apply and release the brakes and they were working normally. I may replace the master and booster but that's not the repair method I prefer, just throw parts at it hoping for a cure. Any ideas?

The rubber brake lines could be swollen on the inside and not letting the fluid release pressure. Crack one if the lines at the caliper and see if that works. Might think about replacing the brake lines at each corner with braided steel or factory replacements.

Fixed!

It was lack of free-play!! I adjusted the rod between the brake pedal and the power booster to get a little more free-play and the problem is solved!

Odd that it was fine until now. Underlying problem could still be present. Could also be sticky piston in the caliper. You still might want to exercise the pistons on each corner and flush the fluid.
