MY02 5-Spoke Wheels for 996

Were the Model Year 2002 5-Spoke Wheels for a 996 the only wheels that carried the following part numbers: Fronts - 996.362.138.03 and Rears - 996.362.140.03? Was there a later version of the same set of wheels for a 996 that carried the same part numbers as the MY02 5-Spokes? If so, did they look slightly different? I am aware that a similar set of 18" 5-Spoke Wheels were available for the 997, but I know they carried a part numbers beginning with 997, not 996. Thanks, in advance, sharing your knowledge.

Wheels with identical part numbers will always look and be identical, except for their mfg.date codes. The only thing that would change on these identically numbered wheels is their date of manufacture date codes.
Date codes on Porsche wheels (and, nearly all Porsche parts) can be either a circle symbol or a rectangular grid, and all codes are on the backside of each wheel, cast into one of the spokes.

Circular codes will show the last 2 digits of the model year straddling an arrow pointing at a number between 1 and 12 which designates the month during that year in which the wheel was manufactured.
Rectangular gridded codes will have punch-stamped dimples within boxes on these grids which show the month (out of twelve months) that the wheel was mfg. The last 2 digits of model year are at left side of grids. All gridded codes I've seen have two rows of dimpled boxes, with consecutive year numbers. For example, one two-rowed grid will have 01 and 02 at left side of grid (01 for upper row, 02 for lower row) and punched dimples in say 7 of the 12 boxes of the lower row. That deciphers into a wheel made in July of 2002.

I refer to the illustrated Porsche parts diagrams at Auto Atlanta dot Com for specifics (including all of the various part numbered wheels) on all of the 996 and 997 wheel options.

Thank you for the reply; much appreciated. I now realize that the profile of the spoke on a 996 18" 5-spoke wheel (MY02 5-spoke) is slightly different than the profile of the spoke on a 997 18" 5-spoke wheel (MY06 5-spoke). I now know the difference. Thanks, again.
